Merry Christmas

Dear Global Youth Parnter Friends,

We want to wish you a Merry Christmas full of joy and happiness.
In Spanish we say "Feliz Navidad": How do you say Merry Christmas in your country?
Christmas in Argentina is a time of family and friends. The Nativity scene is set up in the house. The tree is decorated with candles lights and ornaments. All the presents are placed under the tree and await the morning of Christmas.
On the 24th much like other traditional Hispanic families, everyone waits until late at night to eat and the presents are opened at midnight.
On Christmas Eve, family and friends gather to share a dinner feast that usually includes great celebrating.
How do you celebrate Christmas in your country?

Warm Regards,
Colegio Armenio Students

Excellent idea to explain a bit about Christmas where you live. Now, I live in Kansas, but I grew up in Hobbs, New Mexico which I think explains why my immediate family celebrates on Christmas Eve as you were explaining.

Even though we are not of Hispanic descent or Catholic, our family grew to embrace those local traditions.

I love Midnight Mass, and the local Catholic church, St. Helena's, was always filled with poinsettias and candles.

I hope your new year is filled with opportunities to reach your goals for 2008! Happy New Year!

Thank you very much for your comment. This is exactly what happens when you start blogging. At the beginning you are exploring how everything works and then you start grasping the idea.

Please take a look at my current blog because this one is no longer being updated.
